Prenatal Yoga-Janice Clarfield, Moksha Yoga(2006), Ashtanga Yoga-Diane Bruni & Ron Reid; Vinyasa Yoga(Kula Yoga Project –NYC), Buddhist Study-Precepts with Michael Stone, Non Violent Communication-Marshal Rosenberg + too many workshops to mention!
On a recommendation I set out to try “hot” yoga as a means to better stretch my hamstrings from distance running over 10 years ago. After only a few classes I realized yoga was taking me on a whole new journey. Recently divorced with 2 young boys it was the perfect complement to physical activity and was helping emotionally with anxiety.
I have been a Registered Nurse for over 25 years specializing in Obstetrics and Fetal Medicine at Mount Sinai in Toronto; the mother of 2 amazing boys (now young men), yoga became a staple in my life.
The desire to share the benefits of yoga with others led me to many teacher trainings, Moksha being the first broad training.
I focus my teaching on integration, alignment and strength. Assisting students with an understanding of the inner workings of the body in the poses, to stay healthy in the joints and have a sustainable lifelong practice is woven into my classes. Staying playful and light on the mat is so beneficial-life can be serious enough on its own.
When I am not on my mat or teaching I am spending time with close friends and family and that very special man in my life.
Favorite pose: Downward dog as it reflects the duality of strength and surrender.
